Kate Chastain’s Son Sullivan Makes His TV Debut Dressed Just Like Her Below Deck Costar Captain Lee
Sullivan, born in May, appears alongside his mom on Monday’s finale episode of ‘Couch Talk with Captain Lee and Kate’
Kate Chastain’s adorable 5-month-old son, Sullivan, born in May, is set to make his television debut on Monday night. Sullivan will appear on the finale episode of Bravo’s “Couch Talk with Captain Lee and Kate,” co-hosted by his mother and Captain Lee Rosbach.
In a preview clip shared on Bravo’s Instagram, Sullivan looks the part, dressed in a miniature white captain’s uniform complete with a bow tie, paying homage to Captain Lee, who is also his mom’s co-host.
Kate Chastain, aged 40, playfully introduces her young guest, saying, “Our very exciting guest is ready. He dressed up just for you,” to which Captain Lee Rosbach, aged 73, replies, “And quite smartly, I might say.” He then sweetly acknowledges Sullivan, who is cradled in Chastain’s lap, saying, “So nice of you to be awake while I’m here.”
Chastain humorously attributes Sullivan’s frequent sleepiness to his constant “anchor watch.”
Captain Lee eventually asks if he can hold Sullivan, leading to a humorous moment as Chastain checks if the baby needs a diaper change, playfully implying it’s Rosbach’s turn for diaper duty.
Chastain, known for her role as a yacht stewardess on “Below Deck,” first announced her pregnancy in December. She expressed her joy, saying, “I am absolutely thrilled to become a mother. It’s something I’ve always hoped for, so this is truly a dream come true.”
In January, during an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” Chastain emotionally revealed her uncertainty about motherhood, sharing that she wasn’t sure if she’d ever experience it. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity when she realized it was happening.
Chastain has chosen to raise Sullivan as a single parent, with the identity of her son’s father not publicly disclosed. Her first glimpse of Sullivan came with a heartwarming photo from her hospital room where she cradled the swaddled newborn, affectionately naming him “Sullivan Cay.”
The journey of parenthood wasn’t without its challenges, as Chastain playfully documented her efforts to get Sullivan to sleep and shared humorous insights into the realities of parenting an infant.
Recently, she showcased Sullivan’s early affinity for the boat-loving lifestyle she’s known for. In a sunny Florida setting by a marina, mother and son enjoyed a stroll with boats in the background. Chastain remarked on the occasion, saying, “It dropped below 90 degrees today, so obviously we’re out celebrating the start of fall đđ.”
