Amid his divorce from Jodie Turner-Smith, Joshua Jackson was spotted grocery shopping in Los Angeles. The former “Dawson’s Creek” actor was photographed at a local Whole Foods, appearing to be alone during his shopping trip.
Turner-Smith filed for divorce from Jackson over the weekend, bringing their more than four-year marriage to an end. The “Queen & Slim” actress cited “irreconcilable differences” as the legal grounds for their divorce.
The couple got married in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Juno Rose Diana Jackson, in April 2020. Turner-Smith has requested joint custody of their three-year-old daughter in the divorce proceedings, as revealed in court documents obtained by PEOPLE. Additionally, she asked that neither party receive spousal support and that Jackson cover her attorney fees. Details about their separate and shared properties are yet to be determined, and Turner-Smith has requested the option to amend her filing once those details are clarified.
Leading up to Turner-Smith’s filing on October 1, the couple had been seen together on multiple occasions throughout September. Jackson celebrated Turner-Smith’s 37th birthday in New York City on September 9, although he was notably absent from photos shared on her birthday Instagram post.
In her post, Turner-Smith reflected on love and expressed gratitude for those who celebrated with her, emphasizing the importance of love as a gesture and community.
While the couple had been spotted together at events like New York Fashion Week and the launch of the Lotus Emeya electric vehicle, they had also attended events separately in the weeks following their separation, including the Albie Awards in New York City.
During a previous appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Turner-Smith shared that she and Jackson first met at Usher’s 40th birthday party in 2018. They sparked wedding rumors when they appeared to obtain a marriage license in Beverly Hills in August 2019. Later, it was confirmed that they had indeed tied the knot in December 2019.
Turner-Smith humorously described their relationship to Meyers, saying, “When I first met my husband, we had a one-night stand. We’re in a two, three-year one-night stand now.” This marriage marked the first for both actors.
